23 Feb 2018 In Immigration So Far…
We are just a little over a month and a half into the New Year. It has even now proven to be an interesting one in Immigration Law. There have already been many new developments and there are likely to be many more. It is more important than ever to be informed and take advantage of any existing options before they change or are no longer available.
Existing Changes
One significant change in immigration law that has occurred in 2018 is the termination of TPS for El Salvador. Also, following a Federal Judge’s Order, USCIS also began accepting renewals of DACA applications while litigation remains pending. A proposed rule that will remove the ability of spouses of H-1B Visa holders to apply for a work authorization is likely to take affect soon. Some positive changes have also occurred; such as USCIS announcing it will begin accepting credit cards to pay the filing fee for certain applications.
